Epilepsy Awareness [Level 1]

This course will teach you about epilepsy and seizures, including what epilepsy is, causes, triggers, symptoms and the different treatment options. You will learn about the effects that epilepsy can have on a child or young person's development and functioning, as well as how to support individuals living with the condition. The course outlines the different responses to different types of seizures, how to recognise an emergency situation and how to support an individual after a seizure. It contains downloadable resources to help with recording seizures and identifying any patterns or potential triggers. By the end of this training, you will also be aware of the relevant legislation and associated legal responsibilities.
